You can reduce enlarged pores with home care

  1. What are pores

This is the hole where the hair grows.

And the sebaceous glands are connected to the pores, and they are different from the sweat glands.

2. What causes enlarged pores

1) As puberty passes, sebum develops -> pores develop (pores begin to widen)
2) Aging -> Decrease in skin collagen and elastin -> Decreased elasticity around
pores

3. How to reduce enlarged pores

1) Reduce sebum

The factors that determine the amount of sebum are very diverse, such as genetic factors, eating habits, temperature, humidity, and sex hormones.

Even with age, the amount of moisture decreases, but the amount of sebum hardly decreases.

In order to reduce enlarged pores, it is most important to maintain a reduced level of sebum secretion.

2) How to reduce sebum

  • Isotretinoin, an oral drug, is known to be the only one. However, there are various side effects.
  • There is also a dermatological procedure, but it is not a home care, so it is omitted here.
  • Use a moisturizer containing sebum control ingredients

As a moisturizer, I recommend a moisturizer containing niacinamide, especially for those with acne or sebum secretion.

Niacinamide is an ingredient recognized by dermatologists.

  • Excellent sebum control ability
  • Prevention of acne caused by excessive secretion of sebum
  • Acne can cause symptoms, but it relieves inflammation
  • If inflammation occurs, pigmentation may occur, but it has a whitening effect
  • Although it is a functional ingredient, it has little irritation to the skin and can be used with other powerful ingredients (peptide, hyaluronic acid, PHA, AHA, etc.) and any kind of antioxidant.

For reference, MAXCLINIC products contain niacinamide in almost all products.

3) Prevent sebum from clogging pores

As you all know, oil stains on clothes are best removed with oil.

The oil component acts to suck up the oil.

It can remove oil-based makeup products such as foundation and concealer as well as sebum such as blackheads and impurities.

I recommend using a cleansing oil or MAXCLINIC Oil Foam Cleanser.

How to use the cleansing oil (double cleansing) is as follows.

  1. Rub the oil with dry hands over the makeup or blackhead areas.
  2. Do not rinse immediately with water, wet your hands with a little water and rub the oil to fully emulsify the oil.
  3. After washing off the emulsified oil with water, perform a second cleanse with a cleansing foam.
  4. For reference, MAXCLINIC oil foam does not require the use of a separate cleansing foam in step3.
  5. Because in step 2, the oil is emulsified and turns into a foam state, so you can rub it thoroughly and wash it off with water right away.
